In this Podcast we bring in Dr. Honnold to go over struggles and expectations of women in the Music Industry. We go over the oversexualization of women and the impact this has on younger generations.

In our podcast, we sit down with Dr. Honnold for an in-depth conversation about the things women face in the music industry. From expectations placed on young performers to the horrors that established artists have faced in the past and present. We talk about how gender roles, image, and power dynamics shape women’s careers in music. A HUGE focus of our podcast centers on the oversexualization of women in the industry, how it appears in marketing, performances, and even media representation, and the mental and professional effect it can take on the artist. We also briefly talk about how these portrayals influence younger girls and women, especially young girls who grow up watching such unrealistic standards of success, beauty, and behavior. She also talks about why such things like this can happen, including the producers, media, and the industry itself.
